Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

At the British School of Bucharest, pupils receive more than an excellent education. Understanding, encouragement and individual attention are integral to raising them into well-balanced individuals. We’re proud to have created an environment where they feel comfortable expressing themselves and confident to ask for support whenever needed. Furthermore, we nurture their team spirit and an appreciation of different perspectives through activities and house competitions.

United by Shared Values

At the British School of Bucharest, we are privileged to employ experienced teachers loyal to the school and students. Many teachers have been with us for several years and support children with their social, emotional and personal development. The strong community spirit at the British School of Bucharest and the positive teacher-to-pupil ratio allows teachers and students to form strong bonds, making honest and open dialogue easier for all.

Furthermore, we practice what we teach, which also applies to our strong core values. Self-control, honesty, respect, equality and concern for others are non-negotiable values of outstanding citizens, which we want our students to become.

The British School of Bucharest students show outstanding social development and collaboration in their care for each other, their sense of responsibility and their willingness to work with others to achieve progress and overcome problems. They have an excellent sense of right and wrong, underpinned by well-known and understood School values and inspired by the fairness and kindness of their teachers.

2022 ISI Report

Excellent in All Areas

Our efforts in creating a nurturing environment haven’t gone unnoticed. The British School of Bucharest has received twice in a row the “excellent in all areas” rating (2018 & 2022 ISI Report) for both “the quality of pupils’ learning and achievement” and “the quality of pupils’ personal development”. It’s the highest possible rating that can be achieved after being inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
