The British School of Bucharest is proud to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DofE) to our students. This prestigious programme is designed to challenge and inspire young people aged 14 to 24, encouraging them to reach their full potential.

Why do the DofE?
At BSB, we deliver all three levels of the DofE Award: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each level provides increasing challenges and opportunities for personal growth, enabling students to become resilient, confident and well-rounded individuals.
The DofE Award levels:
-
- Bronze Award: Focuses on developing core skills through volunteering, physical activity and a chosen skill.
- Silver Award: Builds on the Bronze level, requiring students to undertake a more extensive expedition and service project.
- Gold Award: The highest level, demanding a residential project and an extended expedition.
Benefits of the DofE Award:
-
- Discover new passions: Students engage in a variety of activities, helping them uncover interests and talents.
- Develop essential skills: Teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and perseverance are cultivated throughout the programme.
- Boost employability: Recognised worldwide, the DofE Award is highly regarded by universities and employers.
- Build confidence and resilience: Overcoming challenges inspires self-belief and determination.
