EPQ

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is an outstanding opportunity for students at the British School of Bucharest to develop independence, creativity and critical thinking. This unique academic programme empowers students to explore a topic of their choice in depth, culminating in a highly regarded research project.

At BSB, the EPQ goes beyond traditional academics, encouraging students to delve into subjects they are passionate about while building essential skills for higher education and future careers. By undertaking this rigorous Level 3 qualification—equivalent to an AS Level and carrying valuable UCAS points—students enhance their academic portfolios and stand out to universities and employers.

Benefits of the EPQ

By participating in co-curricular activities, students can:

  • Discover their passions: Explore a wide range of interests and find what they love.
  • Develop skills: Acquire valuable skills like teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and time management and other technical skills that may not be covered in the curriculum.
  • Boost their confidence: Gain a sense of accomplishment and self-belief.
  • Become well-rounded individuals: Develop a diverse range of interests and skills.

We encourage all our students to participate in at least two co-curricular activities each term to fully benefit from these opportunities.
