Teacher of Food Technology (Food and Nutrition)
The British School of Bucharest is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Food Technology to join our successful team from either August 2026 or January 2027. Since this is a new course being launched, there may be further flexibility on the start date.
The successful candidate would be required to teach Food Technology at Key Stage 3, with the view to launching Food and Nutrition at IGCSE for the academic year 2027 – 2028 and possibly further examined courses in Years 12 and 13 in the future. The ability to teach a second subject, particularly within Creative Arts or Design Technology would be advantageous but not essential.
This is an exciting opportunity, as this new subject is being launched across the school over the coming years with the full use of a professional-grade kitchen facility. A key part of the role will be to ensure that the facilities are fully equipped and to the highest standard possible. There will also be the opportunity to teach elements of hospitality courses across different phases of the school as enrichment or during after-school programmes, as well as providing support for students wishing to study a related subject at Higher Education.
The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to our vast co-curricular programme alongside being a form tutor and promote Food Technology across the school, as well as contributing actively to our enrichment programmes within the timetable or in our after-school CCA programme.
