Recognising Excellence in Historical Education
We don’t only celebrate our students’ achievements — we take pride in the accomplishments of our dedicated educators as well. We are delighted to share that Scott Allsop, History teacher at BSB, has been elected as an Associate Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, a distinction awarded in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of History.
Founded in 1868, the Royal Historical Society is the United Kingdom’s foremost organisation promoting historical research and education. Associate Fellowship is granted to individuals who have demonstrated an established body of work that advances the understanding and appreciation of History in schools, higher education or the broader public sphere.
Reflecting on the honour, Scott said: ‘I’m thrilled to have been elected an Associate Fellow and for my contribution to History to be recognised by the Society, particularly as I am passionate about engaging young people and the wider public. As a classroom History teacher, it’s a great honour to join such an esteemed community that includes some of my ‘History Heroes’. I feel lucky to have worked at BSB for the past decade, where I have been supported and encouraged to pursue my wider interests in History, as well as having had the opportunity to contribute to the development of BSB’s teaching and learning of the subject.’
In addition to inspiring students in the classroom, Scott is the creator of an award-winning website supporting IGCSE and A-Level learners, runs the widely followed HistoryPod YouTube channel, has authored two bestselling books and has appeared on national television programmes about European History.
We are proud to have such inspiring educators within our school community, shaping young minds and exemplifying our commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
