At the British School of Bucharest (BSB), we are proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of our students in this year’s Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards. These prestigious awards recognise top international students who have achieved the highest marks globally, regionally, or nationally in Pearson Edexcel qualifications.

What does this achievement mean to you in your academic journey?
I would say that this achievement is a pivotal moment in my academic journey, as it is a checkpoint which proves that I am capable of achieving my dreams. In the future, I aspire to become a doctor, and having obtained these results has raised my confidence and has made me believe in myself. I hope that in the future I will be able to maintain a high bar for myself and, hopefully, that I will see myself in scrubs, in the surgery theatre, one day.
What is the key to attaining such outstanding marks?
The key to achieving these results lies in consistency and ambition. If you have a clear goal, a clear dream or milestone that you truly want to achieve and if you are able to outline the steps that you need to follow to get to the finish line, then the rest is all about following your plan and remaining confident. Read ahead, practice exam strategies and exam questions and believe in yourself, because progress comes with time.
Set aside a couple of hours every day in which you aim to complete a series of tasks, and make sure that you use the greatest power that you have – time. Starting to study early on in the year will lead to a decrease in the workload leading up to the exams, which will lower your stress levels and ultimately improve performance.

What does this achievement mean to you in your academic journey?
A confirmation that my efforts are worth it, that I am on the right path and that my efforts are in line with my perspective. In life we all need purpose and perspective, and sometimes validation and these exams are milestones on our road to success.
What is the key to attaining such outstanding marks?
I think that for me the key to these marks was hard work, determination and being focused on my goal of not necessarily achieving this mark but always trying to improve my skills and knowledge.
