Highlights from BSB

December 2025

Greetings, BSB Community!

As we come to the end of the second half of the Autumn Term, we reflect on a season shaped by shared moments, creativity and connection. Across the campus and beyond, students took part in events that brought learning to life in distinctive ways. Below is a look back at some of the experiences that defined this time of year at BSB.

Harry Potter Book Night

Harry Potter Book Night brought a touch of magic to BSB, as students from Years 4 to 8 gathered for an evening inspired by the world of J.K. Rowling. Organised by our Library team, the event included a Sorting Ceremony, themed games and quizzes, shared readings and hands-on activities such as spell casting and potion mixing. Costumes, themed décor and snacks helped create an immersive atmosphere throughout the evening. The event highlighted reading as a shared and creative experience.

Autumn Cup

Autumn Cup is one of BSB’s largest annual sporting events and an inter-school football competition organised by the School and held at Voința Stadium. The event brought together teams from multiple international schools for a full day of structured matches, played within a coordinated fixture schedule.
Let’s give a cheer for our BSB students for the way they represented the School through teamwork and sportsmanship and for the results achieved across the competition.

Year 6 Remembrance Assembly

Year 6 pupils led a Remembrance Assembly as a moving tribute through singing and drama. The assembly created a thoughtful space for reflection, bringing pupils, staff and parents together. Lest We Forget.

Odd Socks Day

Odd Socks Day added colour to the campus as students wore mismatched socks as a symbol of individuality. The day encouraged conversations around inclusion, respect and belonging. Across lessons and shared spaces, the message of celebrating difference was reinforced. The initiative formed part of the School’s ongoing focus on wellbeing and community values.

COBIS Student Leadership Weekend

The COBIS Student Leadership Weekend offered Sixth Form students three days of focused learning and collaboration. Workshops covered areas such as Mental Health First Aid, Introduction to Coaching, Managing a Team, Conflict Resolution for Leaders, Making a Stamp and Public Speaking. Students worked alongside peers from other schools, sharing perspectives and experiences. The weekend concluded with Voices That Matter, where students delivered prepared speeches on topics of personal and social relevance.

CCAs Fair

The CCAs Fair gave students and families the opportunity to explore the wide range of co-curricular activities available at BSB. The event featured clubs such as ‘Discover China!’, ‘Dungeons and Dragons’, ‘Model United Nations (MUN)’, ‘Debating’, ‘Journalism @ BSB’, ‘Game Development’, ‘Set Design’, ‘Make it in Marketing’ and ‘Sport’, alongside many others. The Fair supported informed choices and encouraged students to engage in activities that complement learning beyond the classroom.

Violin Recital

The Violin Recital brought together students from the string programme for a series of performances. Held in the elegant setting of the Crawford Library, the recital provided a focused listening environment for families and staff. Performances reflected ongoing technical development and musical interpretation. The event offered a clear view of the progression of our talented students!

Winter Concert

The Winter Concert brought together students from across the School for an evening of seasonal music. The programme included a variety of vocal and instrumental pieces, presented by different groups. Performers took to the stage supported by staff and the Music Department. The concert marked a shared musical moment as the term drew to a close.

Year 3 Christmas Performance

Year 3 pupils presented their Christmas production, No One Wraps Like an Elf, sharing a North Pole story through song, movement and narration. Costumes, music and staging supported the storytelling throughout the performance. Pupils performed with growing confidence and awareness of the audience.

Carol Service

The Carol Service offered a reflective moment for the school community, held in the historic setting of the Anglican Church of the Resurrection. Traditional carols and readings were shared by students, choirs and musicians. It provided a calm space for reflection during a busy time of year.

Christmas Fair

The Christmas Fair transformed the BSB campus into a winter setting inspired by the world of Narnia. Families explored themed activities and workshops, an artisan market and seasonal food stalls. Live performances included student and staff band performances, a special appearance by internationally recognised Romanian singer INNA and a laser show featuring students as DJs. With such a strong turnout, the event reflected the shared energy and festive spirit of the BSB Community!

Winter Singalongs

The Winter Singalongs brought pupils from EYFS and Primary together through familiar seasonal songs. Families gathered to listen and join in, creating shared moments across year groups. The singalongs marked a collective close to the term for younger pupils.

Let’s give a round of applause to the students who took part, the staff who supported and organised and the families who joined in so fully throughout the term.
We wish the entire BSB Community a restful holiday and look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new year.

Happy Holidays!
