Learning from a Professional Chef: A Special Opportunity for Our SYTYCC Winners

Following their success in this year’s So You Think You Can Cook? competition, our winners were invited to take part in a special Head Chef Masterclass with Chef George from Takanaka, the official caterer of the British School of Bucharest.

The experience was designed to move beyond the competition itself, giving students the chance to discover what it is like to work alongside a professional chef. Guided by Chef George, the session introduced them to professional cooking techniques, teamwork, creativity and the importance of being open-minded when experimenting with flavours and ingredients. The experience was especially valuable as students had the opportunity to gain practical tips, techniques and guidance to help further develop their cooking skills.

More than simply a prize, the masterclass highlighted cooking as an important life skill — encouraging confidence, independence and curiosity in the kitchen.
