Highlights from BSB

Summer Term 2026

Dear BSB Community,
As the academic year draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on the incredible spirit, creativity and sense of community that have defined this Summer Term. From sporting achievements and memorable performances to meaningful celebrations and acts of generosity, the past few months have brought our campus to life in countless ways.

We invite you to look back with us at some of the moments that made this term so special and helped shape another remarkable year at BSB.

🏅 Sports Day

Determination, teamwork and House spirit were on full display as our Key Stage 2 and Secondary students took on a range of sporting challenges. From athletics and relays to volleyball, sandpit jumps and tug of war, students embraced every event with enthusiasm and resilience. Supported by cheering classmates and House mascots, the day was a wonderful celebration of participation, perseverance and friendly competition.

Our EYFS and Key Stage 1 pupils enjoyed a joyful Sports Day filled with energy, excitement and plenty of smiles. Through a variety of fun activities designed to encourage movement, confidence and teamwork, children embraced every challenge with enthusiasm. The event perfectly captured the spirit of Early Years and Primary education, where participation, enjoyment and personal achievement are at the heart of every experience.

 

 

🌟 BSB's Got Talent

BSB’s Got Talent once again brought our community together for an afternoon of creativity, confidence and outstanding performances. From music and dance to gymnastics and more, pupils took to the stage with passion and courage. The event celebrated not only talent, but also the encouragement and support students showed one another throughout the show.

 

🎭 The Grimms' Fairy Tales

Students delighted audiences with imaginative performances of Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel, bringing these timeless tales to life on stage. Through confident performances, creative interpretation and strong teamwork, they demonstrated both talent and dedication. The productions offered a wonderful celebration of storytelling and the performing arts.

 

🎬 Year 6 End of Year Production

Year 6 pupils took to the stage for a lively and entertaining production that marked the end of their Primary journey. Filled with energy, humour and memorable performances, the show reflected both their talents and the friendships they have built over the years.

🌙 Year 2 Sleepover

The Year 2 Sleepover was an exciting adventure and a memorable experience for our young learners. Through games, storytelling and shared activities, pupils strengthened friendships whilst developing independence. An evening full of laughter, teamwork and lasting memories.

🚲 Wheels Festival

Our EYFS pupils enjoyed a joyful morning on wheels as they explored the campus on bicycles, balance bikes and scooters. The event encouraged coordination and active play in a fun and supportive environment. It was a delightful celebration of movement and outdoor learning.

🎨 Primary Palette

Primary Palette showcased the creativity, imagination and artistic development of our pupils. Families had the opportunity to admire a diverse collection of artwork created throughout the year, celebrating both individual expression and technical skill. The exhibition also supported our charity fundraising efforts through the Summer Fair Art Auction.

 

🌈 Summer Fair – Festival of Colour

Our annual Summer Fair transformed the BSB campus into a vibrant celebration of creativity, community and fun. Families enjoyed a fantastic programme of attractions, including the Zip Line Adventure, Pool Climbing Wall, Artisan Market, Live Magician Show, Student DJ Set and the BSB’s Got Talent Grand Finale, alongside performances from our Primary Choir, Dance groups, talented bands and student musicians. The event also featured the Primary Palette Art Auction in support of our charity partner, Light into Europe, making it a memorable day of celebration, connection and giving back.

 

🎭 Year 1 Production

Year 1 pupils delighted families with a charming performance that celebrated their learning, creativity and growing confidence. Through songs, storytelling and enthusiastic performances, they brought energy and joy to the stage.

📚 Year 2 & Year 3 Work Showcases

Year 2 and Year 3 pupils proudly shared their learning through dedicated work showcases this term. Families were invited to explore projects, written work and cross-curricular achievements that reflected the pupils’ progress and enthusiasm for learning.

 

🎵 Summer Band Concert

The Summer Band Concert was a wonderful celebration of musical talent across the school. Students from our Music and Drama programmes delighted the audience with a diverse range of performances, demonstrating both skill and dedication. The evening highlighted the important role the arts play within the BSB experience.

🎙️ Bucharest Middle Schools Debating Competition

BSB was delighted to host its annual Middle Schools Debating Competition, welcoming teams from several international schools across Bucharest. Students demonstrated impressive critical thinking, communication and teamwork skills whilst debating a variety of engaging topics. The event provided a valuable opportunity for intellectual challenge, collaboration and personal growth.

📚 The Julia Donaldson Activity Afternoon

Our pupils stepped into the wonderful world of Julia Donaldson during a fun-filled afternoon celebrating one of children’s most beloved authors. Inspired by her much-loved stories and unforgettable characters, pupils enjoyed a variety of engaging activities that brought favourite books to life.

💦 Water Day in EYFS

Water Day brought plenty of excitement and laughter to our youngest learners. Through water play, sensory activities and outdoor exploration, pupils enjoyed a refreshing and engaging day of discovery. It was a perfect way to celebrate the arrival of summer and create joyful memories together.

🎓 Awards Ceremonies & Graduation

As the academic year drew to a close, our Awards Ceremonies and Graduation celebrations recognised the achievements, progress and contributions of students across the school. These special events highlighted not only academic success, but also character, resilience and community spirit. We extend our warmest congratulations to all students, particularly our graduating Year 13 students, as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.

🌳 Planet BSB: Spring Forest Clean-Up

Around 70 members of the BSB community came together in Băneasa Forest for our annual Spring Forest Clean-Up as part of the Planet BSB initiative, in partnership with Let’s Do It, Romania!. Working side by side, pupils, parents and staff collected approximately 90 bags of litter, helping to protect one of Bucharest’s most treasured green spaces. The event was a meaningful opportunity to care for the local environment whilst strengthening the sense of community that lies at the heart of BSB.

🚀 Track Day

Innovation Hub students took another exciting step in their engineering journey as they tested the vehicles they have been designing and building throughout the year. Track Day gave them the opportunity to evaluate their progress, put their ideas into practice and showcase their work to the BSB Community.

🌻 EYFS Summer Production – The Garden That Grew Together

Our EYFS pupils delighted families with a charming performance full of music, enthusiasm and imagination. Through songs and storytelling, they shared a heartwarming message about growth, friendship and working together. It was a joyful celebration of their confidence and development throughout the year.

🎓 BSB University – The Big Event

For two full inspiring school days, our Primary pupils immersed themselves in the BSB University programme, exploring a wide range of exciting courses beyond the National Curriculum for England. Designed to develop new skills, nurture individual interests and encourage personal growth, the programme offered pupils the opportunity to learn across a variety of specialist subjects.

👩‍🏫 Best Practice in Early Years

This September, BSB will be proud to host Dr Alistair Bryce-Clegg, one of the UK’s leading Early Years and Key Stage 1 educational experts. This full-day professional learning conference will explore practical, research-informed approaches that support outstanding early childhood education. It represents a unique opportunity for educators in Romania to access internationally recognised expertise without travelling abroad.

As we close another successful academic year, we would like to thank every student, parent and member of staff who has contributed to making BSB such a vibrant and supportive community. Together, we have celebrated achievements, embraced challenges and created memories that will last for years to come.
