A Bright Beginning to the School Year at BSB
The British School of Bucharest (BSB) opened its gates this week to mark the start of a new academic year with the much-anticipated Start of School event. The campus welcomed families with an atmosphere of joy and celebration, where vibrant details and light-hearted moments created a sense of togetherness. New students and parents were introduced to our community with warmth, while returning families enjoyed reconnecting with teachers, friends and colleagues. It was a day that captured the spirit of BSB: welcoming, dynamic and full of promise.
Opportunities at the Start of the Year
As the year begins, families have been introduced to the wide range of co-curricular opportunities awaiting our students. The Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) programme, offering over 120 choices across all Key Stages, is designed to extend learning beyond the classroom. From sport and the arts to music, technology, innovation and well-being, these activities encourage students to develop their talents, discover new interests and cultivate skills that will serve them for life.
Alongside the excitement of new learning opportunities, the first charitable initiative of the year was also announced. The Back to School Backpack Appeal, beginning in the coming days, invites our community to prepare and donate fully equipped backpacks for children supported by Casa Ioana, Fundația Inocenți, Bufkids and the St Stelian’s Association. This tradition reflects the values of empathy and social responsibility at the heart of our school.
Looking Ahead
The start of the academic year has already illustrated the strength of the BSB Community, where learning, creativity and generosity go hand in hand. With a rich calendar of opportunities ahead, our students are encouraged to embrace every experience – both inside and outside the classroom – with curiosity and determination.
