December 2023
Greetings, BSB Community!
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane as we fondly recall the incredible events that lit up the second half of our Autumn Term.

Autumn Cup
First off, the Autumn Cup was a blast! Our football teams, fuelled by enthusiasm and team spirit, displayed their talent on the pitch, transforming each match into a spectacle of sportsmanship and skill. Teams from different schools competed with great enthusiasm, showcasing their talent and camaraderie on the field. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the young athletes, coaches, and schools for contributing to a memorable day!

Poppy Appeal
In keeping with our time-honoured British traditions, November saw us standing in support of the Poppy Appeal initiative. All proceeds from the Poppy Appeal items displayed around the campus went towards honouring heroes who served in all conflicts. Beyond charity, our young learners added a splash of colour by drawing and colouring poppies, paying homage to the past while promising a brighter future.

Remembrance Assembly
Year 6 pupils took the stage for a poignant Remembrance Assembly, intertwining song and drama to honour lives touched by wars and conflicts. This annual ceremony at BSB was a solemn acknowledgement of those who sacrificed everything in battle, imparting profound lessons to future generations. The event stood as a powerful moment of unity and remembrance. Our Year 6 pupils crafted an emotional mosaic, merging song and compelling drama to pay tribute to Remembrance Day.

BSB Tea Time Concert
Our talented students astounded everyone at the Tea Time Concert by seamlessly blending classical masterpieces with contemporary hits. From graceful piano strokes to rhythmic drum beats, their musical celebration captivated all present. The concert’s success was a testament to their dedication, and we eagerly look forward to more events uniting us in song. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the magic!

Romania Day
On 29th November, we celebrated Romania Day in style, dressing in national colours or traditional attire. Students from MAD added to the festivities by providing Romanian flag stickers, and face paints, and distributing biscuits. The day included a lively ‘Hora’ dance, celebrating Romania’s rich cultural heritage.

Winter Clothes Collection
As part of our ongoing partnership with Casa Ioana, BSB encouraged the community to contribute to their winter initiative. Donations of warm clothes and supplies were collected, making a positive impact in supporting homeless individuals in Bucharest. The community actively engaged in fostering positive change, contributing to the greater good. Thank you!

Christmas Gift Appeal
The Christmas Gift Appeal is a heartwarming initiative that spreads joy to children and those in need, thanks to our partner charities: Fundatia Inocenti, Don Orione, and Casa Ioana. Participants created gift bags with essential items for children or adults in need. The BSB Community eagerly embraced the spirit of giving, playing the role of Santa’s elves and contributing to a meaningful celebration of compassion, unity, and the true spirit of Christmas. Thank you for your kindness!

BSB Winter Concert
An enchanting evening unfolded at BSB during the Winter Concert, where the campus transformed into a vibrant stage for our artistic and talented students. Amidst delightful thrills and awe-inspiring performances, students took the spotlight, showcasing the depth and diversity of their talents. From guitar solos and drum beats to enchanting violin and cello performances, the concert was a magical blend of Christmas carols and internationally recognized pop or rock tunes. The event, with its fairy-tale setting and twinkling lights, left a lasting impact, thanks to the outstanding contributions of everyone involved.

BSB Winter Fair
The BSB Winter Fair 2023 was a spectacular celebration that took place on 8th December at the BSB Campus. Attendees were treated to a show-stealing entrance by Santa Claus, live music, and magical artistic performances. Engaging activities and arts & crafts workshops brought an extra layer of joy, while a showcase of unique offerings from local artisans added creative flair. Delicious treats from the talented chefs at Takanaka immersed everyone in the Christmas spirit, culminating in a mesmerising laser show on the Front Lawn. Laughter and celebration were abundant. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to everyone who contributed to this magical event!

Carol Service
The Carol Service at the Church of the Resurrection was a delightful Service of Nine Lessons and Carols. The school community gathered for enchanting musical performances, congregation carols, and readings from Nine Lessons. It was a magical evening filled with joy, harmony, and the spirit of the season.

Casa Ioana Christmas Soup Kitchen
BSB continues its support for the Casa Ioana charity with a generous act during their Christmas soup kitchen for the homeless. Our students served hot soup, distributed winter clothes and tinned food, and had the opportunity to engage in heartfelt conversations with those in need. This was indeed a meaningful and authentic experience.

Year 3 Christmas Production
Year 3 Christmas Production, ‘An Out-of-This World Christmas,’ captivated everyone with a special performance, immersing the audience in the joyful Christmas spirit. The imaginative Year 3 pupils created an unforgettable celebration that left the BSB Community delighted.

Christmas Singalongs
From the little ones in EYFS to Year 6 pupils, the BSB Community united for heartwarming Christmas Singalongs. The performances were a fantastic celebration, allowing everyone to enjoy and sing along to the most joyous Christmas songs, capturing the fantastic spirit of the season. You were the best audience!
