BSB – COBIS Maths Challenge

An excellent result for our BSB students at the ‘COBIS / Mangahigh Maths Challenge’. Accepted and aced by our BSB students!

Mastering mathematics can sometimes prove to be quite a challenge without a proper grasp of the basic principles coupled with constant revision and exercise. Students need to consolidate their learning to build competency, confidence and fluency in their use of techniques and mathematical understanding.Mathematics can then become a fun and rewarding subject.

If you don’t believe us, just ask the BSB students who participated in the ‘COBIS /Mangahigh Maths Challenge’. In total, 26 of them from Year 5 to Year 9 gained Gold Medals putting the British School of Bucharest in the global top 20 Leader Board, out of nearly 90 schools which took part in the event.

For those of you who don’t know, the ‘COBIS / Mangahigh Maths Challenge’ is a free, online competition for students aged 5 to 16 year, designed to engage them with mathematics through a games-based learning approach. Using Mangahigh, students complete mathematical activities, which teachers may personalise to support students’ learning. They score individual points, which in turn contribute to their school’s tally.

Thank you to all the BSB teachers and students who participated and made such a positive result possible!
