Key Stage 1 Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), Music and Clubs Teaching Assistant

Naomi Aves joined the British School of Bucharest in 2018 as the Primary Music Teacher. She graduated from Durham University with a BA (Hons) in Music and completed her PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) with Canterbury Christ Church University in 2010. Naomi taught Music in a number of Special Needs schools across England and held a Primary Music Teacher post in London before heading overseas. She taught in international schools in Bangkok and Tashkent, where she developed the Music Curriculum and instrumental programmes as Head of Department, before returning to the UK to teach Secondary Music. Naomi has a performance diploma on the flute and has taken numerous exams in piano, as well as voice. She takes a keen interest in Ethnomusicology and has enjoyed learning how to play the Gamelan (Indonesian ensemble) and the Guzheng (Chinese instrument).
