School Accreditations & External Validation

We are committed to providing the highest standards of education within a British school system. Parents can be confident that our many accreditations and external validations are in support of this.

The British School of Bucharest is recognised as a British School Overseas (BSO) via the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and is accredited by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (ARACIP).

Our approach to teaching the National Curriculum for England and our internal processes of continual evaluation and improvement are underpinned through regular inspections by ISI. Our latest ISI report rated the British School of Bucharest as ‘excellent’ for the quality of pupils’ learning and achievements and the quality of pupils’ personal development. This rating is at the top of the scale.

We are also members of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), the Educational Collaborative for International Schools (ECIS) and the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA). Through these important accreditations, our children enjoy many opportunities for inter-school competition that promote self-development and extended learning.

Our school attracts high-calibre teachers, including Oxford and Cambridge graduates, and is qualified to offer teacher training via the Independent Schools Teacher Induction Panel (IStip) to suitably qualified candidates.

The school is regularly inspected for compliance with British school system standards that apply to independent schools in England under the UK’s Department for Education regulations.
